Uzoma Osinobi

Uzoma Osinobi is a researcher specialising in the Igbo diaspora — the communities of Igbo and Igbo-descended people in the United Kingdom, the United States, the Caribbean, and West Africa. His work for Mkomigbo documents the connections between diaspora Igbo communities and their homeland, the history of Igbo presence in the Atlantic world from the slave trade era to the present, and the contemporary experience of maintaining Igbo identity across distance and generations.

He brings particular expertise in genealogical research and DNA ancestry analysis as tools for recovering connections severed by the Atlantic slave trade, and in the oral traditions of Gullah Geechee and other communities with documented Igbo ancestry.
